From CO2 to bioplastics
Giving industry a plastic that performs like the fossil one and leaves nothing behind
We grow plastics from CO2and sunlight
Our engineered microalgae produce PHA, a biodegradable polymer, directly from CO2 and sunlight. The polymer accumulates inside the cells, is extracted, and is processed into a resin that converters can run on their existing equipment. At the end of its life it biodegrades in natural environments, leaving no persistent microplastics behind.
From lab bench to industrial scale
From lab bench to industrial scale
First PHA-producing strain obtained, and four patent applications filed on the underlying technology.
Productivity optimization and diversification of the PHA grades our strains can produce.
Cultivation moves outdoors, under natural light and real seasonal conditions.
Continuous operation over long runs, with stable yields and a reproducible downstream process.
First PHA grades characterized and qualified with converters on their own production lines.
Production at a scale where cost per kilogram can be measured rather than modelled.
First production plant on stream, closing the path from laboratory bench to industrial supply.
